At present (28) Ekalavya Model Residential Schools are functioning throughout the state of Andhra Pradesh under the control of Gurukulam. Now, the Gurukulam has determined to take up state-level admissions from class 6th and backlog vacancies for 7th 8th, and 9th courses into (28) EMR Schools through the written exams on a merit basis.

Based on the reference 1st cited, Gurukulam has issued operational guidelines for effective functioning of EMR Schools vide ref.2nd cited which includes reservation pattern and allocation of seats in EMR Schools entry-level courses. Vide ref. 3rd and 4th cited, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, GoI, New Delhi have communicated the draft admission guidelines for the year 2022-23. Based on the draft admission guidelines, the next is reservation standards need to be maintained in all EMR Schools throughout the Country.
a) Admission Eligibility: A candidate appearing for the choice check for admission in Class VI for the session 2022-23 needs to be learning or has studied in Class-V in the educational session 2021-22 or 2020-21 in a Government / Govt. Aided/State Recognized Schools / Level B of NIOS OBE Programme / CBSE affiliated schools of the state where they are seeking admission (in EMRSs). A school will likely be deemed acknowledged if it is declared so by the Govt. or by any other agency authorized on behalf of Govt., (or) A candidate who has not attended any college but studied at home can also be eligible to use for admission in Class VI (As per section 4 of Chapter-II of RTE Act 2009). However, the parents/ guardian of the candidate shall submit a self-declaration relating to the same. The minimum and maximum age restrict (as of 31st March of the year in which admission is sought) for admission in Ekalavya Model Residential Schools in numerous classes is given under (Child born on 1st April should also be considered.)

b) Admission selection procedure: Admission to EMRS shall be completed on the idea of the Selection Test. Admission to class VI shall be made strictly on the idea of an entrance test referred to as the Eklavya Model Residential Schools Selection Test (EMRSST). The candidates wanting to get admission in EMRSS have to appear and qualify for EMRSST.
c) Reservations in Admission: In accordance with EMRS Guidelines November 2020 (10%) seats i.e., (6) seats are allotted to Non-ST students. However, as per the draft admission guidelines communicated by NESTS, it was stated that in accordance with EMRS Guidelines Nov. 2020 and MoTA Lr. No. F.No. 11011/02/2019-EMRS/PVTG dated 30.03.2022, the below-mentioned reservation criteria shall be adopted for granting admissions in Class VI.

Eligibility of scholars for admission into EMRSS across the state:
In the draft admission guidelines, the NESTS have proposed that the seats should be open to all ST youngsters of the state who have no particular reservation quota for the ST resident of Block/ Taluka / Tehsil / District through which EMRS is located. Notwithstanding, the State / UT EMRS Societies could train their privilege to fix a particular quota, not exceeding 30% for the ST candidates belonging to the dam/taluka/tehsil/district in which the EMRS is situated.
It is clarified that the candidates belonging to the reservation classes as mentioned within the desk throughout the state are eligible to apply for admission in any of EMRS no matter the fact that whether or not an EMRS is operating in their block/ Taluka / Tehsil / District of residence or not. Accordingly, (18) seats are compulsorily filled with the students belonging to the districts the place EMR Schools are situated. The remaining seats may be stuffed as per the reservation standards and as per the selection of the students as a state quota based on merit only.
The annual income of the parent shall not exceed Rs.1,00,000/- for admission into any Residential Schools. (Need not produce income certificate in case of white ration cardholders as per GO.MS No: 229Dated 23-06-2017)
Submission of application form:
All the eligible students shall submit the stuffed purposes by way of only aptwgurukulam.ap.gov.in. or approach the nearby Gurukulam establishments with all details to fill the application and hand it over to the principal. The Principals I turn shall add the appliance through {online}.
